B. Smith (Barbara Smith) has been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease. She is an American restaurateur, former model, author, television host, and has her own Home & Furniture Collection line. She appeared on TV including ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and in 2011 she debuted in the Off Broadway play 'Love, Loss, and What I Wore’. She began her career with the Ebony Fashion Show and went on to grace the cover of Mademoiselle Magazine in July 1976 as the first black model to be on the cover.
